Speech Bubbles & Creative Writing

This week First grade read with me Today I Will Fly by Mo Will ems.

We discussed main characters and pop-in characters, made predictions about how Piggy would fly and talked about the qualities of a friendship. After we read the book we created our own comic page with the characters from Today I Will Fly using speech bubbles, capital letters and punctuation marks.

What a fantastic week! The Fourth Grade hall was transformed back to a GROOVIN' State of Mind. We worked on hooks, homophones, planning out our compositions, reviewing the elements of a great story, and wrapping up our stories. Peace out!
